Discovery Depot was established in 2003 as the first licensed child care center in California located on-site of a homeless shelter. Discovery Depot is licensed for 25 children ages 0-5. This program is free to eligible families and allows the Bakersfield Homeless Center resident parents to travel off-campus to pursue housing, work, and educational opportunities while their children receive nurturing early childcare and education that prepares them for school and life.
