Who We Are

The purpose of Kern Early Stars is to support high-quality early childhood education programs, strengthen teaching practices, and advocate for all children. We partner with California State Preschool programs, child development centers, family child care providers, and alternative child care settings. Our program also collaborates with community based organizations including libraries, family resource centers, and home visiting programs.

Participating educators receive professional development opportunities and work with a coach that guides their journey. Together they set goals that strengthen quality teaching practices and support the early education of Kern County children.

Since 2014, KES continues its mission to educate programs, families, and the community in understanding the impact of high quality education with the support of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools and First 5 Kern.
